April 19, 2008: The baseball team overcame a seven-run deficit to defeat Wilmington College by a score of 8-7. April 15-20, 2008: The women’s tennis squad won four straight matches by a combined score of 35-1. April 26, 2008: The women’s softball team qualified for the OAC Tournament for the first time since 2003. April 27, 2008: Senior Amanda Shannon became the first female golfer to earn All-OAC honors. WINTERNovember 1, 2007: Senior Terry Walsh hit a jumper as time expired to give the Blue Streaks a 69-67 victory over Albright College. December 21, 2007: Senior Alex Bernot was named OAC “Forward of the Year.” February 16, 2008: The women’s swimming and diving team won the OAC Championship for the 16th time in 19 years. February 16, 2008: Freshman Nick Grady was named All-OAC in three events and sophomore David Essi in two events at the OAC swimming and diving championships. February 23, 2008: Senior Adam Pizzurro and junior Ben Adams earned a trip to the NCAA Division III Wrestling Tournament after winning OAC crowns. March 5, 2008: Freshman Lee Jennings and junior Rachel Price were named to the women’s basketball All-OAC squad. FALL September 8, 2007: A trio of freshmen, Melissa Thorne, Kelly Grieve and Michelle Grossman, led the women’s cross country team to a first place finish at Walsh University Pre-AMC Meet. September 29, 2007: Junior linebacker Mike Nettling’s interception in overtime gave the Blue Streaks a victory against rival Baldwin-Wallace College, 20-17 to win the 19th annual Cuyahoga Gold Bowl. October 26, 2007: Women’s soccer coach Tracy Blasius earned the 100th victory of her career with a 3-0 win over Marietta College. November 3, 2007: The men’s soccer team defeated Capital University 2-1 in overtime to capture the OAC Tournament title. November 6, 2007: Senior Melissa Drumsta and juniors Emily Jackson and Meagan Gambone were selected as honorable mention Academic All-OAC winners.
