CN wins, again

 Colin Beisel and Katie Sheridan were awarded first place for their features layout “Gifts that give twice.”


Andrew Rafferty received two honorable mentions for his news stories “What about the average Joe?” and “Students fight for professor.”  Meghan Wolf received the same recognition for her article “Imus fired after making racist, sexist comments.”  


Jenna Lo Castro was awarded for her work with “Lo Castro’s Lowdown.” She was given third place for her column “Thursday night responsibility.”


Chris Ostrander received honorable mention for his sports page layout.


Second place went to the world news page by Brad Michael Negulescu.  Former editor in chief Katie Mahoney said, “Their hard work and talent really is the reason we’ve been so successful.”


Last week The Carroll News received second place for best all-around weekly newspaper from the Soceity of Professional Journalists.  SPJ also awarded LoCastro first place for her column “Lo Castro’s Lowdown.”
