Mohawk Golf & Country Club played host for a Sunday edition of the Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational.
All eight of the OAC programs were in attendance for the mid-September weekend outing. John Carroll fell just two strokes shy of taking the overall victory with a team total of 592. Otterbein University bested the field with a final team score of 590.
As a team, JCU dominated over the rest of the field. The closest team to John Carroll’s core was Heidelberg University with a 598 team score.
The Blue Streaks did produce a medal winner during the weekend conference outing. Junior John Schnur finished with a 140 (-4) over the two days, placing him first overall for the rest of the field.
Schnur would later collect the OAC Men’s Golfer of the Week honor for his performance.
Also chipping in for the Blue Streaks was sophomore Mike Furey, who finished with a 149 (+5) score on the weekend. Junior Connor O’Grady rounded out the top-20 finishers for John Carroll with a 151 weekend total.
John Carroll managed to place three golfers within the top-20 of a field that showcased eight programs and 63 players.
The second place finish also marks the third consecutive top-two finish for program since the start of the 2016 season.
