The John Carroll University men’s golf team took to Red Hawk, Ohio for the Heidelberg Invitational over two days on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17.
The Blue Streaks put forward their best effort, ultimately finishing in fourth place when all was said and done.
After sitting in sixth place out of six teams heading into Sunday, JCU was determined to climb up the standings.
As a team, they improved five strokes and two spots thanks to some strong individual performances. Sophomore John Schnur was the top performer for the Blue Streaks on the day. Schnur finished in sixth place overall with an overall score of 153 strokes. Freshmen Connor O’Grady and Chris Sole each finished with identical scores of 155 and tied for eleventh place overall in the contest.
Rounding it out for JCU, sophomore Brian Boyle posted a score of 158, finishing in a tie for eighteenth place overall.
At the end of the day, the Blue Streaks finished the competition with a team score of 629 strokes, beaten out by Tiffin University (608 strokes), Ohio Northern University (611) and Baldwin Wallace University (619).
