Women’s golf captures first place in Mount Union Invitational.

John Carroll won the tournament with 346 strokes, edging Ohio Northern (349) by just three shots.

The Blue Streaks were paced by four players finishing in the top 10 of the invitational. JCU junior Amanda Shannon finished in second place overall shooting an 83.

Also placing in the top ten were freshman Kelly Lucas, freshman Samantha Omilion and sophomore Brittany Coder.

Lucas shot an 86 to finish in sole possession of sixth place, while Omilion and Coder carded 87’s to tie for seventh place.

This was the first victory away from JCU’s home course since winning the 2001 Heidelberg Spring Invitational.

JCU trio brings home track and field titles

John Carroll junior KatieWinings won two events this weekend at the Muskingum Track and Field Invitationals.

She captured first place in the triple jump and also won the 100-meter hurdles.

John Carroll senior Mary Gilloon won her first 3,000 meter steeplechase at the Invitational.

Sophomore Tara Ford won a title in the women’s high jump. Ford cleared 5’2” in the final to record the win.

JCU Tennis sweeps Capital

JCU women’s tennis posted an impressive 9-0 sweep over the Crusaders, while the men’s team won 7-2. Both teams are unbeaten in conference play on the season.
